Critical Analysis
Initial Reaction
This photo reminds me of a cold rainy evening. Although it puzzles me why the photographer took this photo. Description The name of the photographer is unknown. He took a photograph of a man standing with his umbrella on a rainy evening on the streets of New York City. Analysis The man is being surrounded by trees, making him the focal point of the picture, with a pattern of stones and rocks on the ground, shining by the light and the water. |
Interpretation
This photograph has no title, which I believe plays into that is going on in the photo. Its dark mysterious and creepy. This photo connects to me in the sense that I keep a lot of things to myself, and only speak about them when I have to.
Cultural Context
The time is unknown, however the photograph was taken in New York City. The photograph could possibly have been taken to represent the feeling of loneliness, and to tell everyone that in times like these, there is always help.
Informed P.O.V
I think that the photo is not successful in a way because it is not symbolic of anything, it doesn't tell a story, and it doesn't have any relations connected with it. To make it better, I would have made the shadows less intense, as it goes from black, to instant white from the glare of the lights shining off the floor.
